‘Mar’ meaning ‘sea’ in Spanish, alludes to the coastal geography of the communities we proudly serve across Santa Barbara, Montecito & Carpinteria.
‘Casa’ meaning ‘house’ in Spanish, is a reference to our focus on residential properties and a tribute to the rich Spanish history of beautiful Santa Barbara.
We believe successful outcomes are made possible by working together toward a common vision. Casamara is proud to connect best-in-class trade services in our community with opportunities to exhibit their crafts. Great workmanship should be mutually beneficial to both homeowner and provider. We strive to be the standard-bearer for demonstrating the capabilities of our local businesses and exceeding the expectations of our Club members.
Pride of home ownership is palpable in our community. In many respects, this area is the envy of the California coast, and Casamara is honored to be entrusted with the stewardship of its many magnificent residences. There is nothing more rewarding than helping to enhance the beauty of this spectacular area. It’s a responsibility we take seriously—and upholding our reputation as an ethical and caring local business is of the utmost importance.
Max Schaps is a CFA charterholder. He ventured out from a 15-year career in private wealth management to launch Casamara. Having managed a wide range of assets during his tenure in finance, Max is well versed in delivering personalized, results- driven guidance relating to the preservation and stewardship of assets people value most. Earning the CFA charter is a highly selective process with fewer than one in five candidates becoming a CFA charterholder. The CFA Charter is a globally recognized designation that attests to success in a rigorous and comprehensive study program in the investment management and research industry and a commitment to ethical conduct. Max is also a proud alumnus of UC Santa Barbara, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics.
After purchasing their home in Santa Barbara, Max and his wife undertook the grueling process of identifying reputable and qualified vendors to handle their extensive list of property maintenance and improvement needs. It wasn’t long before their schedules were inundated with vendor research, introduction calls, onsite consultations, cost comparisons, job oversight, invoices and payments. Their search for best-in-class local trade services not only involved an extensive amount of time but a considerable amount of trial and error. But they felt their lovely home was absolutely deserving of the effort. Max’s effort to transform their house into a space that truly felt like home nearly became a full-time job. Having navigated the challenges of sourcing trade services that met his exacting standards, Max recognized a largely underserved need with respect to property management: an elite stewardship service dedicated exclusively to owner-occupied homes— in other words, someone trustworthy, a member of the local community, whom elite property owners can trust to manage their home with pride and exacting attention to detail. And so Casamara was born.
We identify and vet best-in-class trade services, accepting nothing less than excellence from those performing for our members. Serving only a select group of homeowners, we reserve membership for those with magnificent properties.
We are emphatic about attention to detail and quality in everything we do. We care deeply about our members’ satisfaction and won’t rest until they are happy with our service.
We prioritize cultivating close relationships with our members that surpass the typical business-customer engagement. We treat Casamara members like family and their homes like they are our own.
